Collection

My collection of BBC Micros focuses on the original Model A and B machines. My aim is to represent the most significant variations and features using the fewest possible examples. The majority of my computers have not been modified or upgraded. I’ve removed upgrades from a few computers to return them to their original specification.

Each computer is presented in a condition that’s as close as possible to brand new. This means they are all complete, working and clean. Where parts have failed they have been replaced. In general I don’t replace a part simply to repair cosmetic damage because it removes originality for no justifiable gain. These computers are made of robust materials that withstand heavy use and abuse. They respond well to a through clean — and that’s usually sufficient — but where possible I choose an example that’s complete and has been well looked after.

I don’t bleach or Retrobright cases and keyboards because it’s a harsh process which involves the removal of labels and risks poor results if not done well.
